On 29 January, 30 stakeholders from France, Belgium and the Netherlands signed an agreement to work together to realise the 'Meuse Cycle Route’ within the next three years.
This long-distance cycle route will take cyclists past the most attractive parts of the River Meuse, from its source in France to the mouth of the river in the Netherlands. The route fits within a series of successful long-distance cycle routs such as ones along the Danube, the Elbe and the Rhine. Cycling holidays are an important growth sector which can generate billions of euros of income, according to Twan Beurskens, Regional Minister of Economic Affairs and Vice Governor for the province.
